Autism prevalence has risen

The prevalence of autism spectrum discorders (ASD) has risen to one in 68 children- a 30% increase over previous rates, according to data released 3/27/2014 by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The full article is listed below but it is worth noting that the use of the  Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers (M-CHAT) , which we do at the 18 and 24 month visits, has improved our ability to better screen and possibly refer our patients earlier for intervention.
