Parents of Peachtree Park Pediatrics,
Because of how COVID-19 vaccine trials were originally designed the current CDC guidelines state the following:
Don’t get COVID-19 vaccines at the same time as other vaccines. Wait at least 14 days after your COVID-19 vaccine before getting any other vaccine. Or if you have recently received any other vaccine first, wait at least 14 days before getting your COVID-19 vaccine.
For our patients 16 years and older who need pre-college or summer checkups, this recommendation will make scheduling an office visit a little trickier. Your child may be due for routine immunizations during his/her checkup, and these will need to be timed around 1 or 2 COVID-19 vaccines, depending on which product they receive.
To ease the process of scheduling your teen’s COVID vaccine, we recommend that patients 16 years and older come in for their annual visit as soon as your insurance will allow. Before calling for an appointment, please check with your insurance plan to ensure you understand your policy’s timing requirements for well visits.
Peachtree Park Pediatrics strongly encourages COVID-19 vaccines for all eligible patients, and look forward to assisting you in scheduling an office visit.
Sincerely,
Peachtree Park Pediatrics
We encourage everyone to continue to use good hand hygiene and practice social distancing as much as possible. Please contact our office with any further questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Peachtree Park Pediatrics
