Parents of Peachtree Park Pediatrics,
During the COVID-19 pandemic, temporary federal guidelines were enacted to allow pharmacies to administer immunizations, including the influenza vaccine. The guidelines state that children under 3 years of age will need a prescription from their pediatrician to receive the vaccine at one of these locations. The doctors of Peachtree Park Pediatrics will not write a prescription for influenza vaccines given outside of our office.
As your child’s medical home, our goal is to ensure that your child receives the right vaccine(s) at the right time and that all vaccines are administered safely and appropriately. We are available beforehand to answer any questions and afterwards to address any possible side effects.
PPP will administer influenza vaccine as soon as we receive it (typically September) and will continue to immunize children 6 months old and older through March or April 2022. Flu vaccine will be offered to all patients whenever they are in the office for check-ups or illness visits. In addition, we will host flu clinics during the week and some Saturdays to maximize the number of vaccine appointments. As soon as the flu vaccine arrives in our office, we will notify parents via e-mail, text, and Facebook.
We encourage everyone to continue to use good hand hygiene and practice social distancing as much as possible. Please contact our office with any further questions or concerns.
